JOY R. THOMPSON
IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Joy RaNae Hatfield Thompson, 70, of
Idaho Falls, died December 10, 2003, at her home of cancer. She was under
the care of the Aspen Foundation for Hospice Care.
She was born May 27, 1933, at Afton, Wyoming, to Lorin
John Hatfield and Delpha Wynona Sanderson Hatfield. She spent her early
years in the Palisades area, then moved with her family to Rigby, where
she attended schools and graduated from Rigby High School.
She married Boyd J. Thompson March 7, 1953, in Idaho
Falls. Their marriage was solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple on
June 30, 1957. They made their home in Everett, Washington, for three
years, then moved to the Idaho Falls area, where they have lived ever
since. She has been a homemaker and mother. In her youth she worked as
a telephone operator and medical receptionist.
An active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day
Saints, she served as Primary President and in many others positions throughout
the years. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, and travel.

Sister: Dea LaRue Blosch, Yuma, AZ
5 Grandchildren, 2 Great Grandchildren
She was preceded in death by two sons, Jeffrey Boyd Thompson and Randy
Ray Thompson.
Funeral Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Monday, December
15, 2003, at the Idaho Falls LDS Fox Hollow Ward, 2345 West 17th South,
with Bishop Todd Nichols officiating.
The family will visit with friends on Sunday from 7 to
8:30 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home (273 N. Ridge) and for one hour prior to
the services at the church.
Burial will be in Ririe-Shelton Cemetery under the direction
of Wood Funeral Home.
