Her most treasured calling was working in the nursery. She spent many hours at the Humanitarian Center and at home working on quilts and quilt kits.
She was also a member of the Telephone Pioneers. She took pride in organizing monthly luncheons and visiting with her fellow retirees.
Joy loved quilting, canning, cooking, baking, crocheting, sewing, and spending time with her family. She was always selflessly serving and caring for others.
Joy is survived by her loving husband, Ralph Johnston of Idaho Falls, ID; sister, Jean Davidson of Shelley, ID; daughter, Brenda (Todd) Archibald of Saint Anthony, ID, and Bradley (Lana) Johnston of Rigby, ID; 10 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
