Joy Foose

Joy Arlene Phippen Cotterell Foose,78, of Idaho Falls, passed away June 6, 2014, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center. Joy was born February 5, 1936, to Altha and Merlyn Phippen. She was born and raised in Idaho Falls, Idaho. In October 1953, she married Melvin Adrian Cotterell. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Joy lived a very active life. She enjoyed reading, shopping on QVC, following her grandchildren on social media and was an active participant in the Red Hat Society. Joy loved to cook and bake and often did so for other people. She loved spending time with her family and her dog, Fritz. Joy is survived by her loving children, Tanya Lyn Cotterell Berlingieri of Idaho Falls, ID; Dirk (Lilly Ann) Cotterell of Draper, UT; Darren (Tammy) Cotterell of Decatur, TX; Tamra (Gary) Vaupel of Salina, KS; brothers, Terry (Rita) Phippen and Mike (Tamara) Phippen; her sister-in-law Nancy Phippen; and 14 grandchildren and 37 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Jay Phippen. Funeral services will be held at 12 Noon Wednesday, June 11, 2014, at the Ammon LDS West Stake Center, 2055 Coronado Street, under the direction of Wood Funeral Home. The family will meet with friends prior to services from 11-11:45 a.m. Wednesday at the church. Burial will be in Fielding Memorial Park Cemetery.
