JOY BROWN ELG Click here to view a video of Joy's life IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Joy Ann West Brown Elg, 80, of Idaho Falls, Idaho, joined her Heavenly Father on March 22, 2010, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center, with her daughter, Pamm Taylor and her granddaughter, Lindsey Drake, at her side. Joy was born April 9, 1929, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Alma Henry West and Alice Bernice Drake West. She attended schools in Utah and graduated from Idaho Falls High School. She married Joseph Dale Brown on February 14, 1949. Their marriage was solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple June 2, 1961. Together they had four children, Robin Dale Brown, Gary Allen Brown, Pamela Jo Brown and Larry Dean Brown. Joe preceded her in death. She married George Paul Elg on June 16, 1978, in Elko, Nevada. Survivors include her daughter, Pamm Taylor, of Idaho Falls; her son, Larry Brown, of Idaho Falls; her granddaughter, Lindsey Drake (Eric); and great grandchildren, Steven Drake, Adelaide Love Drake and Willa Jo Drake, all of Bozeman, MT; her daughter-in-law, Pam Cole; grandson, Dustin Cole; and great grandson, Keaton Cole, all of Boise, Idaho; her step granddaughter, Melissa Valdez (Odonie); great granddaughters, Ariana Taylor and Marzay Valdez, all of Idaho Falls. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dale Brown; her two sons, Gary and Robin; her parents; her sisters, Bernice Dutton, Virginia Simonson and Dorothy Allen; her brother, Richard West; and husband, George Paul Elg. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 27, 2010, at Wood Funeral Home, 273 N. Ridge. The family will visit with friends Saturday from 1 to 1:45 p.m. prior to services at Wood Funeral Home.
