Joshua Alan Brotherson, 29, of Idaho Falls, passed away August 28, 2011, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center from injuries following a car accident. Joshua had a great start to life - he was born on the bathroom floor at 2:15 a.m. What made this special was that he was delivered by his father on the cold, cruel, morning of December 15, 1981, in Idaho Falls, Idaho. As always in Joshua's life, he was too impatient to wait for the doctor to arrive. His parents are William and Denise Brotherson. He was a very active child growing up and was the most curious person around. He used to take everything apart just to see what made it work and he put most things back together right. He loved riding his bike up and down the street, a love that stayed with him into adulthood as he loved anything with wheels. He also was a speed junkie who loved any outdoor sports that allowed him to play with speed. He took up the sport of golf even though it did not enable him to go fast because his father and grandfather played, but he learned to love it and would go play at a moment's notice. Josh attended school at Hillcrest High School but graduated from Lincoln High School. He married his high school sweetheart, April Wolfe, and even though they later divorced, they remained friends! They had two lovely boys together, Braydon and Eddie. Joshua worked in construction and truck driving. He was a volunteer firefighter for the City of Ammon for several years. He was a Christian; he enjoyed golf with a passion, snowmobiling, four-wheeling, hunting, fishing, camping, and all things outdoors. He enjoyed teaching his young children how to be young men. He was also the first one to help when volunteers were called whether he knew the person or not. He was well liked by most and respected by all who really knew him. Joshua is survived by his fiancé, Channel Rish of Idaho Falls, (they were to be married this fall), Channel's sons, Jordan and Andrew Blacker, his two sons with April, Edward and Braydon Brotherson of Idaho Falls; His parents, William and Denise Brotherson of Ammon; brothers, Adam (Michelle) of Idaho Falls and Sebastian (Marya) of Menan; sisters, Amber of Idaho Falls and Elizabeth Brotherson of Utah. He was preceded in death by his grandmothers, Mina Kay Brotherson & Mimi McChesney; and a sister-in-law, Nicole Brotherson. Memorial Services will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday, September 3, 2011. at the Ammon LDS 10th Ward, 4375 East Sunnyside Road, with Bishop David Hurst officiating. Light refreshments will be provided. The family respectfully requests that instead of flowers you please leave a donation in his name to help defer the costs of the funeral expenses. Donations can be left at Citizens Community Bank, Joshua Brotherson Memorial.
