Joseph George Vilbig, 51, died suddenly from cardiac arrest, on Tuesday, January 9, 2018, at his brother’s home in Amelia, Virginia. He was a son, brother, husband and proud father of five wonderful children. He was born on February 24, 1966, to Joseph Hayes Vilbig and Sally Joanne Vilbig in Aurora, Illinois.
He is lovingly remembered and survived by Krista Michele Stanger Vilbig of Idaho Falls, Idaho, his oldest daughter, Samantha Jo (Eric Quittam) Green, 30, of W. St. Paul, MN, with his granddaughter Isabella AnnMarie, 7, of W. St. Paul, MN, His three sons Kade Steven Vilbig, 26, of Idaho Falls, ID, "Joe " Joseph Talon Vilbig, 23, of Idaho Falls, ID, Kyle David Vilbig, 20, of Idaho Falls, ID, His daughter, Nykayla Michele Vilbig, 14, of Idaho Falls, ID , His mother, Sally Joanne Vilbig, of Amelia, VA, His brother, Scott Vilbig, of Amelia, VA, His Father, Joseph Hayes Vilbig, of Ft. Meyers, FL, His step mother, Mary Vilbig, of FT. Meyers, FL, His step brother, Stephan (Sharon) Vilbig of Sanford, FL, His Nephew Scott Michael Vilbig, and his Sister in Law Paulette (Sue) Tate Vilbig.
Joe spent his time playing sports, swimming, fishing, boating, reading, and exploring. Joe was always up for any adventure. He loved spending time with his family. He was a veteran of the United States Navy. He Worked as the Director of IT&S for Eastern Idaho Medical Center and later developed his own consulting business.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday January 27, 2018, at Wood Funeral Home (273 N. Ridge) in Idaho Falls.
In lieu of flowers a Go Fund Me account has been set up on Facebook to help Joe’s family.
