He was born December 4, 1918 at Thomas, Idaho to Joseph William Peterson and Sarah Elizabeth Palmer Peterson. He grew up and attended schools in the area. He married Myra Olney on June 21, 1945 in Butte, Montana. He worked as a truck driver for Cowboy Oil, Bairs, and Challenge Creamery. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Surviving are:Wife: Myra PetersonDaughter: Jo Ann (Francis) Watson, Idaho Falls, IDSon: David (Carole) Walters, Idaho Falls, IDDaughter: Frances (Rick) McCarthy, Clarksville, TNBrother: Calvin (Dila) Peterson, Renton, WASister: Alice Mickelson, Blackfoot, IDSister: Cleo Webb, Pingree, IDSister: Josie Browne, Meridian, IDSister: Delila Walters, Blackfoot, ID 9 Grandchildren and 16 Great Grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his son, Larry Keith; and 6 sisters, Phelma, Margaret, Genevive, Martha, Bertha, and Gladys. Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, June 10, 2002, at the Ririe-Shelton Cemetery.The family will meet with friends on Sunday from 7-8:30 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home.
