JOE FILUTZE AMMON, ID -- Joseph “Joe” Filutze, 79, of Ammon, died February 13, 2008, at his home of a brain tumor. He was under the care of Aspen Home Health & Hospice. He was born January 6, 1929, in North East, Pennsylvania, to James Filutze and Spassimino Paggano Filutze. He grew up and attended school in Erie, Pennsylvania, where he lived until he was 21 years old. He served in the U. S. Navy during World War II in the Aleutian Islands. He graduated with a degree in building construction from the University of California. He moved to Idaho 15 years ago. He married Sue DeMaria Yarger September 4, 1995, in Rigby, Idaho, after an eleven year engagement. He worked as a construction inspector and hospital and school building foreman. He served on the Homeowners Board and held many other positions as well as sitting on the Board of American Arbitration Association. He enjoyed sports, especially the Miami Dolphins, Notre Dame Football, and NASCAR #3 and #8. Joe lived for his family and friends. Survivors include: Wife: Sue Filutze, Idaho Falls, ID Daughter: Julie (Steve) Parkin, Woodlands, TX Son: Joey Filutze, Napa Valley, CA Daughter: Dawn (Jaxon) Ching, Ammon, ID Daughter: Lynn (Brian) Campagna, Napa Valley, CA Son: John DeMaria Jr., Ammon, ID Brother: Frank Filutze, Ripley, NY Brother: Vinny Filutze, San Marino, CA Sister: Frances Trianna, Northeast, PA Sister: Vickie Putnam, Erie, PA Grandchildren: Trever & Ashley Filutze Nikki, Kylee, & Tony Ching Marcus & Cameron Campagna Jack & Max Parkin He was preceded in death by his parents and eight brothers and sisters. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, February 18, 2008, at the Wood East Side Chapel, 963 S. Ammon Road, with Pastor Melinda Oberhelman of First Baptist Church officiating. Military Rites will be performed by the Bonneville County Veterans Memorial Team.
