Joseph Robert Derricott

Joseph Robert Derricott, 60, of Idaho Falls, passed away September 25, 2024, at his home.

Joe was born June 19, 1964, in Burley, Idaho, to Robert Shepherd Derricott and Marilyn Munger Derricott. He grew up in Idaho and Oregon.

He married Barbara Stein and had three children, then married Jessica Fossum, and together raised their combined seven children.

Joe was a jack of all trades throughout his life. He was a plumber, tree trimmer, and warehouse manager for a distribution company.

He enjoyed hunting, camping, tree climbing, and reminiscing with his children. One of Joe’s biggest passions was exploring ghost towns and abandoned places.

Joe is survived by his mother, Marilyn Webster of Buhl, ID; son, Joey F. Derricott of Midvale, UT; son, Christopher F. (MaKenzie) Derricott of Idaho Falls, ID; daughter, Kelsey (Daniel) Vitacolanna of Idaho Falls, ID; son, Kevin (Makyla) Smith of Idaho Falls, ID; son, Travis (Jaymee) Smith of Idaho Falls, ID; son, Matthew (Courtney) Smith of Boise, ID; daughter, Amber (Marcus) Winn of Mackay, ID; brother, Mark (Charity) Girard of Boise, ID; sister, DaLena Derricott of Idaho Falls, ID; brother, Brent Girard of Pocatello, ID; brother, Raymond Derricott of ND; brother, Bobby Derricott of FL; and 11 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Shepherd Derricott; and his father, Glen Girard.
