JOSE M. "JOE" HERRERA IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Jose M. "Joe" Herrera, 78, of Idaho Falls, died May 13, 2005, at Idaho Falls Health and Rehabilitation Center from a stroke. He was born January 21, 1927, in Davis Junction, Illinois, to Jose M. Herrera and Luz de le Rosa Herrera. He lived in Montana and California, but spent most of his life in Idaho. He served in the U. S. Army during World War II. On October 6, 1989, he married JoAnn Veloy Bloom in Idaho Falls. He worked as a repair and installation technician for Mountain Bell for 30 years, retiring in 1982. He was a member of the Eagles Lodge and Telephone Pioneers. Joe enjoyed golf, music, singing, dancing and caring for his yard. Survivors include his wife, JoAnn Veloy Herrera of Idaho Falls; daughters, Michelle (Butch) Johnson of Idaho Falls, Denise (Del) Taylor of West Jordan, Utah, and JoDee (Mike) DeWitt of Wendell, Idaho; sons, Jose M. (Abby) Herrera, Joel Marcos Herrera, and Andre R. (Krissy) Herrera, all of Idaho Falls; stepdaughters, Kathy (Jason Evans) Draper and Debbie (Steve Winston) Utterbeck, both of Idaho Falls; stepson, Duane (Terri) Hill of Idaho Falls; two brothers, Raul "Roy" Herrera of Idaho Falls and Jess Herrera of Glendale, California, two sisters, Alice Breul of Long Beach, California, and Sally DeLaGarza of Idaho Falls; 29 grandchildren; and 5 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Sophia Solie; a brother, Arthur S. Herrera; and previous wives, Cherie Lindsey and Audrey Lou Sathoff. Funeral Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 19, 2005, at Wood Funeral Home (273 N. Ridge). The family will visit with friends Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday for one hour prior to the services, both at Wood Funeral Home (273 N. Ridge). Burial will be in the Ammon Cemetery, where Military Rites will be performed by the Bonneville County Veterans Memorial Team.
