Jorge Garcia

Jorge Garcia, 65, of Firth, passed away December 10, 2020, peacefully at his home surrounded by loved ones in Firth, Idaho.

Jorge was born July 15, 1955, in Penjamo Guanajuato, Mexico, to Odilon Garcia and Domtilla Garcia Ventura. He was raised in Mexico but came to America with his father when he was a teenager. They lived in Arizona, California, and Washington. His profession in agriculture lead him to these states before settling in Idaho when he reached his thirties.

Jorge was blessed with eight children: Selena, Jorge Jr., Miguel, Ofelia, Ashley, Andrew, Cristian, and Priscilla. Throughout his life, he was of Christian background–always having a strong sense of faith and striving to live a Christlike life. Though he lived in America, Mexico was still home to him, and he loved to visit frequently. He enjoyed playing soccer, watching Sunday Night Football, and was a great cook. Jorge loved to be with his family and had many, many friends. He will be deeply missed.

Jorge is survived by his loving children, Selena Garcia of Elkhart, IN, Jorge Odilon Garcia, Jr. of Pocatello, ID, Miguel Garcia of Firth, ID, Ofelia Mar-y-cruz Heck of Salt Lake City, UT, Ashley Garcia of Idaho Falls, ID, Andrew Garcia of Firth, ID, Cristian Garcia of Firth, ID, and Priscilla Garcia of Firth, ID; and 4 grandchildren, Riley, Anastasia, Oliver, and Ilario.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 19, 2020, at Wood Funeral Home. The family will visit with friends from 10-11:00 a.m. prior at Wood Funeral Home, 273 N. Ridge. Burial will be in Fielding Memorial Park.
