Jonny Lancaster

Jonathan Evan "Jonny" Lancaster, 41, of Idaho Falls, Idaho, passed away unexpectedly at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center on March 19, 2017, after a brief illness.

Jonny was born February 18, 1976, to Becky Lancaster. They moved to Idaho Falls where he grew up and attended school. As a teenager, he worked as a tack man and guide for two summers at Portman’s Diamond P Ranch, West Yellowstone. In school he enjoyed wrestling and football. Jonny was a hard worker in all aspects of life. He was baptized with his son Corbin in 2012, and his daughter Sapheera in 2013, through Watersprings Church, Idaho Falls. On August 13, 2016, Jonny married Melinda Samson. Jonny and Melinda made their home in Idaho Falls, where Jonny worked as a foreman and rock crusher for Depatco.

Jonny lived life to the fullest and had a talent for making every occasion a party. He enjoyed riding his motorcycles, camping, fishing, floating, and drinking beer with family and friends. Jonny loved his family, was fiercely in love with his wife, and was incredibly proud of his children; being a father was the most important thing in his life. He was well respected by Depatco owners, supervisors, and crews. He was a hardass but he never asked anyone to do a job he wasn’t willing to do himself. He had an inspirational way of making others feel safe, loved, and protected. He had a soft spot for babies, animals, and his many brothers. Loyalty, honesty, integrity, honor, respect, and courage were his creed and he was true to his word. (Contrary to popular belief he was not a well-paid hitman.)

Jonny is survived by his loving wife, Melinda Lancaster; children, Sapheera, Corbin, Ryleigh Lancaster ; mother; Becky (Terry) Turnmire; sister, Tabatha Cox; stepbrothers, Bobbie Turnmire, Corey Turnmire; uncle, Bruce Lancaster DVM; aunt, Christine (Don) Wanek; cousins, Brett (Dee) Lancaster, Donald (Sarah) Wanek, Lisa (Perry) Scarcelli, and Kevin Wanek; and grandparents, Nelda Lancaster and Bob Weisenburger. He was preceded in death by his chosen father, Kelly Clay and grandparents, Kenneth Lancaster and Mary Weisenburger. Jonny valued his honorary father, Bruce Cox, and many brothers (to name a few), Chad Elliott, Kelly Clay, Jr., Travis Spencer, Darrel Messinger, Ev (Boo) Torres, Travus Cox, Jason Oswald, Lenny Torres, Tobias Calderwood, Damon Clifford, Bill Harrington, Chris Harris (Heyrend), Joel Johnson, Shawn Francis, Chris McGinty, Joe Harding, Blake Cox, Eric Walker, Chris Fife, Gary Kambeitz, Jamal Porter, Devin Trost.

"When you’re top of the line, you’re always top of the line. Never above you; never below you; always beside you" Jonny will be loved and remember forever. JUST…LIKE…THAT
