Jolene Jensen

JOLENE JENSEN IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Jolene Vira Jensen, 58, was called home to her Heavenly Father on November 4, 2006, in the surrounding love and support of her family after a brief but courageous battle with cancer. Jolene was born March 3, 1948, near Rexburg, Idaho, to Rex Joseph Jensen and Vira Marie Hall Jensen. She was the fifth child in a family of six children, growing up on the Jensen family farm in Independence, a small community west of Rexburg. She attended school at Burton Elementary and Madison Junior High, and graduated from Madison High School. She attended beauty college in Idaho Falls and began her 39 year beautician career shortly thereafter. She worked at a salon on 2nd Street, then at the Westbank Beauty Shop until she opened her own salon at her home, Jolene’s Cut & Curl, in 1984. She has had a loyal and wonderful clientele over the years, and they were more than her customers, they were her dear friends. Never was this more apparent than when Jolene was in the hospital and the cards, flowers, visits, and phone calls were so abundant. Jolene was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was a true Child of God, serving in the Primary, the Young Women Program, and most recently serving nine years as Relief Society Compassionate Service Leader in the Idaho Falls Templeview Ward. Jolene leaves behind a family that will never forget her wonderful ways and giving nature. She is survived by her loving son, Trent (Niki) Jensen of Idaho Falls, her brothers and sisters, Jerrolyn (Dallas) Beck and Shirley Hampton of St. George, UT, Lawrence (Marie) Jensen of Rigby, Howard (Rae) Jensen of Rexburg, and Brenda (Kent) Warner of Terreton. Jolene’s life centered around her wonderful grandchildren, Cody and Kylee Jensen and Shea Gohr, all of Idaho Falls. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, who will miss her tremendously. Jolene was preceded in death by her parents, her brother-in-law, Maynard Hampton, and two nephews, Justin and Michael Warner. Jolene is loved . . . and she will be deeply missed by her friends and family. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 8, 2006, at the Idaho Falls LDS Templeview Ward, 1450 Mountain View Lane, with Bishop Aaron Christensen officiating. The family will meet with friends Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home, 273 N. Ridge, and again on Wednesday for one hour prior to the services. Burial will be in the Burton Cemetery near Rexburg under the direction of Wood Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the Jolene Jensen Memorial Fund, 1704 Olympia, Idaho Falls, ID 83402. -------------------------------------- Condolences sent online: Brandi Anderson Trent & family- Your mom was so wonderful and loving no matter who you were.
