JoLee Thorngren, 70, of Idaho Falls, passed away October 17, 2014, at her home. She was under the care of Aspen Home Health and Hospice.
JoLee was born September 11, 1944, in Ogden, Utah, to Ray Eugene Messenger and Madeline Ball Messenger. She grew up and attended schools in Idaho Falls.
On January 25, 1968, she married Ronald Lynn Thorngren in Idaho Falls. To this union were born six children, Sherree, Kellie, Trina, Veronica, Tricia, and Scott. JoLee and Lynn made their home in Idaho Falls, Idaho, where JoLee worked in maintenance for Argonne Laboratory. They lived in the Portland, Oregon, area where she worked for the Tualatin Hills Parks & Recreation in Beaverton. They returned to Idaho Falls in 2003 to retire.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She enjoyed dancing, collecting porcelain dolls, and spending time with her family and her puppy Pogo.
JoLee is survived by
her loving husband of 47 years, Lynn Thorngren of Idaho Falls, ID;
daughter, Sherree (Gary) Engelstad of Idaho Falls, ID;
daughter, Kellie (Shane) Monson of Idaho Falls, ID;
daughter, Trina Adams of Idaho Falls, ID;
daughter, Veronica Thorngren of Idaho Falls, ID;
daughter, Tricia (Heath) Blackburn of Rigby, ID;
brother, Arlin (Mary) Messenger;
brother, Jack Messenger;
15 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her son, Scott Crumley, mother, sister, sister-in-law, step-father, and a grandson.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 22, 2014, at Wood Funeral Home, 273 North Ridge Avenue, with Bishop Josh Hawkes officiating. The family will visit with friends from 1:00 to 1:45 p.m. Wednesday prior to the services.
