Johnathan Matthew Tozier

With deep sorrow, we announce the passing of Johnathan Matthew Tozier, 30, of Ammon, Idaho, on March 13, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his loving family and continued to bring smiles and laughter to those around him until the very end. John was a devoted husband, father, son, brother, nephew, and friend, whose presence will be missed dearly.

John was born on April 13, 1994, in Lancaster, California, to Tom Tozier and Lisa Morgan. Growing up, he cherished his time with his grandparents, Bea and Ken, creating lasting memories of making fresh orange juice, enjoying tapioca together, visiting Knott's Berry Farm, and sharing meals at the beloved chicken restaurant nearby. He often spoke with great affection about these moments, which shaped his love for family and connection.

The family later moved to Rigby, Idaho, where John's love for animals flourished. He helped raise a diverse group of animals, from chickens and goats to emus, forming strong bonds with them and even mimicking their sounds with playful accuracy. His childhood was also filled with adventures alongside his siblings and the neighbors, who were like family. Together, they spent their days playing in the fields, making music, tackling chores, and enjoying video games.

A true music enthusiast, John taught himself to play guitar, finding particular joy in performing songs from his favorite band, Avenged Sevenfold. His creative spirit and curiosity knew no bounds. He had an innate ability to learn and solve problems, often surprising those around him with his knowledge and skills. Whether reading up on a new subject or diving into a hands-on project, John was always eager to explore. His love for cars, particularly his prized World Rally Blue Subaru WRX STI, led him to pursue a career as an Automotive Technician at Teton Toyota.

John met the love of his life, Loretta, on March 26, 2012, at a local band's video shoot, and the two quickly became inseparable. Their connection was immediate, and on November 21, 2014, they married in a beautiful ceremony atop the Menan Butte. Together, they shared countless adventures, spontaneous outings, DIY projects, and moments of pure joy, always making each other laugh and savoring the simple pleasures of life.

In November 2017, their family grew with the arrival of their beloved daughter, Zaeda. John revelled in teaching Zaeda the things he loved, from playing guitar to headbanging and sharing his passion for music in every way possible.

Above all, John's loyalty, kindness, and unshakable strength left an indelible mark on all who knew him. No matter the challenges he faced, he was always just a phone call or text away, ready to offer help or simply listen. His heart was as big as his spirit, and his love for family and friends was boundless. Even in the face of his illness, John fought with remarkable strength and courage until the end.

John is survived by his loving wife, Loretta Tozier, and daughter, Zaeda Tozier, both of Ammon, ID; his father, Tom (Pam) Tozier of Colorado; his mother, Lisa Morgan of Alaska; his brothers, David Tozier of Colorado, Sean (Lyss) Tozier of Idaho, Daniel Tozier of Alaska, and Tony Tozier of Colorado; his sisters, Jessica Tozier of Colorado, Beth Morgan of Idaho, and Sarah (Conner) Barnett of Nevada; his aunt, Suzanne (Eric) LaFirth of Idaho; and his grandmother, Patricia DeWitt of Utah.

John was preceded in death by his cherished grandparents, Bea Tozier and Ken Lemmon.

A gathering to celebrate John's life will be held from 12 p.m. until 2 p.m. on March 22, 2025, at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 South Ammon Road, in Ammon, Idaho. Friends and family are invited to join in remembering and honoring his memory.
