John Aldon Tall, 88, of Island Park, passed away October 3, 2021, at home. He was under the care of Eden Hospice.
John was born September 17, 1933, in Rigby, ID, to Aldon and Deoine Halverson Tall. He grew up and attended schools in Rigby, Idaho, and attended four major universities in Idaho, Oregon, Utah and California.
He served as a Colonel in the United States Air Force.
On November 30, 1956, he married Marjorie McDonald Tall in Idaho Falls, ID. John and Marjorie made their home in Island Park, Idaho, and Utah. John worked as a Oral Maxillo Facial Surgeon in California and Idaho Falls, Idaho.
He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served in several bishoprics and high councils, and as the Anaheim Stake Mission President. He served a medical humanitarian mission with his wife in Hanoi, Vietnam.
He loved skiing, reading, golfing, fishing, and especially loved spending time with his family.
John is survived by his loving wife, Marjorie Tall of Island Park, ID; son, Michael Aldon (Jennifer) Tall of Idaho Falls, ID; son, Mark Asael (Daren) Tall of Idaho Falls, ID; daughter, Diane Kathryn (Jeff ) Wilson of Orem, UT; brother, Robert Tall of Palm Desert, CA; sister, Julie (Mike) Marshall of Merced, CA; sister, Karen Saddler of Highland, UT; 15 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his son, David John Tall; daughter, Malinda Kristina Tall; and daughter-in-law, Wendy Tall.
Services will be held at 2:00 pm Friday, October 8, 2021, at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 South Ammon Road. The family will visit with friends from 1:00 pm to 1:45 pm prio to service. Burial will be in the Ammon Cemetery.
Military Rites will be performed by the Bonneville County Veterans Memorial Team and Idaho Honor Guard.
