JOHN J. BOHNEY, SR.
POCATELLO, ID -- John Jay Bohney, Sr., 86, of Pocatello, died May 4, 2002, at the Hillcrest Haven Convalescent Center in Pocatello of natural causes.
He was born July 2, 1915, at Camas (Hamer), Idaho, to Raymond Bohney and Mary Lavina Richardson Bohney. He grew up and attended schools in the area, graduating from Hamer High School.
He married Arvella Ellis December 3, 1934, at Rexburg, Idaho. He was a rancher and farmer. He also worked as a conveyor operator at F.M.C. Corp.
He was a member of the Moose Lodge and the Castleford Grange. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, and making fishing lures. He was often found drift fishing the Snake River below the American Falls Dam with family members, his favorite fishing companions. He enjoyed all his family and was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.

Deck, Clarkston, WASister: Helen Warth, PocatelloSister: Julia [Carson] Harp, Hillsboro, OR 31 Grandchildren, 34 Great Grandchildren, 5 Great Great Grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his parents, two sons, George R. Bohney and Gene L. Bohney, three brothers, and a sister.
Funeral Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 8, 2002, at the Wood Chapel of the Pines, with his son, Clint Bohney, officiating.
The family will visit with friends on Tuesday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. and for one hour prior to the services on Wednesday, both at Wood Funeral Home.

Death is not an ending, it's a beginning, a crossing over to that beautiful new life where the flowers are sweeter, the sun brighter, and the tears and sorrow of today are no more remembered.
