John Mack Quick, 77, of Idaho Falls, passed away January 31, 2022.
John was born April 12, 1944, in Kansas City, Kansas, to James Kirby Quick and Helen Louise Oldham Quick. He grew up and attended schools in Troy, Kansas, and graduated from Atchison High School in Atchison, Kansas.
On June 20, 1970, he married Kathy Lynn Andrus Quick in Idaho Falls, Idaho. John and Kathy made their home in Idaho Falls where John worked as a pipe fitter for the government. John served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War.
John enjoyed spending time in the outdoors. He particularly loved golfing, fishing, camping, and playing softball. He also had a creative side. He loved to paint and sing in The Rocky Mountain High Barbershop Quartet. He fully supported his grandchildren and attended all of their sporting events and activities.
John is survived by his loving wife, Kathy Lynn Quick of Idaho Falls, ID; sons, Tony (Michelle) Quick of Ammon, ID, Chris (Susie Robb) Quick of Idaho Falls, ID, and Timothy Scott (Heather) Quick of Idaho Falls, ID; brothers, Jerry (Teresa) Quick of Topeka, KS, Joe Quick of Corpus Christi, TX, Jeff Quick of Idaho Falls, ID; sister, Charlie Camargo of Spokane, WA; 7 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, James Quick, and sisters-in-law, Marie Quick, and Nancy Quick.
Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 12, 2022, at Wood Funeral Home, 273 North Ridge Avenue. The family will visit with friends from 1:00 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. prior.
Military Honors will be performed by the Bonneville County Veterans Memorial Team and the United States Navy Honor Guard.
