When they closed he went to work for Westinghouse as a machinist, “retiring” in 1973 when his wife passed away. He was a member of the JACL and the Elks Lodge. He then returned to repairing reels and firearms until mid 1990’s, when he also retired from scratch bowling by winning the State Senior Championship. His hobbies were dancing, fishing, horse trading, precision craftsmanship, fixing anything, expressing his opinions and spending time with his grandchildren, Rex Grange and Kellie Grange Sanchez. Survivors include Daughter: Kerry Grange of Idaho Falls, Daughter: Penny Howard of Phoenix, andSister, Francis Mara of Chicago, three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Betty, parents, fishing partner, two sisters and one brother. At John’s request cremation took place.
