John Charles Kuchenbecker, 64, of Idaho Falls, passed away on October 13, 2013, at his home.
He was born on March 3, 1949, to Otto Erwin Kuchenbecker and Ellen Cecilia Randall Kuchenbecker in Troy, New York. The family moved to Idaho Falls, where he graduated from Idaho Falls High School. He continued his education at the University of Idaho.
On November 21, 1975, he married Trenna Dawn Gallagher in Idaho Falls at Christ the King Catholic Church. He worked at Fay’s Food Liner, Bowlero, Wackerli’s, and Wonder Bread.
John was an accomplished bowler and once bowled a 290 game, in which he cracked a bowling pin. In 2004 he received an IBA appreciation award, and he was part of the Senior All City team 2006-07. He was the Secretary of the TGIF Bowling League for 21 years.
John was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing at all of the courses in Idaho Falls, and anywhere else he had the opportunity to play. He also was a self proclaimed weather man. He always knew and predicted what the weather was going to do the next day (and he was usually right!). He was a music trivia marvel, and we believe he knew every song ever written!
John’s biggest passion was his family. He loved spending time with his wife Trenna, his children and grandchildren playing all sorts of games, or just visiting. He loved going to his grandkids’ activities and cheering for good calls, but making sure they knew when it wasn’t a good call. He loved cooking for all of us during holidays and family get-togethers, watching his cooking shows and using kitchen “gadgets”.
We will all so deeply miss his calming nature, his sense of humor, and how much he cared for us all. He taught us all to be better people through his random acts of kindness and his help with many charity events and fundraisers.
We love you John.
