John Anson Johnson, 39, passed away on Tuesday, January 17, 2017, from complications associated with a heart attack, surrounded by family.
John was born in Afton, Wyoming, on March 2, 1977, to Terry and Pamela Johnson.
John was a happy person who always had a smile on his face. He was not afraid of new experiences and he had an incredible amount of confidence as he participated in many activities. John was a voracious reader and loved to learn. He excelled academically and was very intellectual. John enjoyed a good discussion and loved to debate.
John spent many of his growing up years in Shelley, Idaho. He participated in scouts and earned his Eagle Scout award. John is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served a mission to the Knoxville Tennessee area.
John married Amber Anglin, daughter of Jim and Debbie Anglin, the love of his life, on June 1, 2005, in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. He made her laugh and made sure she felt loved. In 2008, his son, Anson was born. Anson was John’s pride and joy. He doted on Anson and would do anything for him and for Amber. John loved being with his family.
John was an expert on the Revolutionary War. He participated in discussions and answered questions concerning this war and other wars. John researched and created several blogs on early U.S. history and historical time period clothing. He loved to teach others and share his knowledge.
John is survived by his wife, Amber and their son, Anson, of Idaho Falls, ID; parents, Terry and Pamela Johnson, of Shelley, ID; sister, Cathy (Tyler) Lind, of Shelley, ID; nieces and nephews and other extended family members.
John was preceded in death by his older brother, Jared, whom he adored and by both sets of grandparents.
He will be missed by many. Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, January 28, 2017, at the Idaho Falls 11th Ward Building (1265 Juniper Avenue) with Bishop Randy Peterson officiating. Burial will be at a later date.
