Click Here To View Memorial Video John Emery Heath, 92, our loving father, grandfather, and brother, was taken to his heavenly home by angels on September 23, 2014. He was under the care of Hospice of Eastern Idaho. Emery was born July 15, 1922, in Shelton (Ririe), Idaho to Grover Davies Heath and Christie Egan Heath. He was the fourth child of five. He was seven years old when the family moved to Ammon. He graduated from Ammon High School before enlisting in the United States Navy. On August 28, 1945, he married Deon Cook at her parents home in Ammon, Idaho. Their marriage was solemnized on January 23, 1947, in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. Deon passed away May 2, 2011. After his hitch in the Navy, Emery returned home with his bride to the family farm where he milked cows, raised potatoes, grain, and hay. This would be his life-long work. When kids came he would work seasonally at the U&I sugar factory in Lincoln, Idaho. Later in life he and Deon owned rental property to supplement his retirement. Emery was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and the American Legion. He enjoyed his family and fishing, camping, sight seeing, and telling tall tales. Emery is survived by his daughter, Linda (Robert) Cleveland of Idaho Falls, ID; son, David (Bernie Craig) Heath of Idaho Falls, ID; daughter, Susan (Clark) Jones of Idaho Falls, ID; daughter, Cinda (Tom) Hammond of Idaho Falls, ID; son, Mark Heath of Idaho Falls, ID; brother, Ersel Heath of Idaho Falls, ID; sister, BettyLou McCrary of Clearfield, UT; 16 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and 13 great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Deon Heath, a son Don J. Heath, and brother Wendell Heath and sister Goldie Newman. Dad was a wonderful man with a passion for helping others. He worked hard to support his family and loved them dearly. The family would like to thank Hospice of Eastern Idaho for the wonderful compassion and care they gave our Dad, and to our aids Ruth Miller, Dakotah Tucker, Lisa Paris, Aubree Owens, and Ashley Morales whose loving care made his end of life so comfortable. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 27, 2014, at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 South Ammon Road. The family will visit with friends from 7-8:30 p.m. Friday at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 South Ammon Road, and Saturday from 1-1:45 p.m. prior to services. Burial will be in the Ammon Cemetery. Military Rites will be performed by the Bonneville County Veterans Memorial Team and Idaho Honor Guard.
