John Wilson Hatton, 86, of Idaho Falls, passed away November 3, 2011 at his home. He was under the care his family and Kirste Wood of Creekside Hospice. John was born February 16, 1925 in Laveen, Arizona to William Brown Hatton and Mary Lanore Lewis Hatton. He grew up and attended schools in Phoenix. John served his country in the United States Navy in the Pacific arena during World War II. On March 5, 1947, he married Ruby Romola Miller in Mesa, Arizona. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls, LDS Temple. Together they raised four children. Ruby passed away on September 7, of this year. After John’s military service, he worked as a concrete finisher for Hatton Brothers Cement Contracting and in Mohave County as a Sheriff’s Deputy and the Search and Rescue Captain. Also, John worked as a performance test driver for Ford Motor Company in Kingman, Arizona for 34 years. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in the Scouting program. His family was his most treasured asset with friends a close second. John enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, four-wheeling, and gardening. Survivors include: Daughter: Sherryn Lynn (Carl) Woodruff of Vancouver, WA; Son: David Wilson (Dorothy) Hatton of Kingman, AZ; Daughter: Debbie S. (Ken) Hebb of Idaho Falls, ID; Daughter: Barbara Jean Anderson of Idaho Falls, ID; 10 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and 1 great great grandson He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Ruby R. Hatton; his brothers Elva C. Hatton, Dan P. Hatton, and Leon C. Hatton, and his sisters, Dorothy Elkins and Billie Bea Andrews. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 7, 2011 at the Idaho Falls LDS Sageview Ward (1345 Clarence Drive) with Bishop Byrun Nukaya officiating. The family will visit with friends from 10 to 10:45 a.m. prior to services at the church. Burial will be in New Sweden Cemetery under the direction of Wood Funeral Home.
