John "Jack" Hart

JOHN N. "JACK" HART, JR. IDAHO FALLS, ID -- John Napier “Jack” Hart, Jr. 80, of Idaho Falls, died June 30, 2004, at his home of cancer. He was under the care of the Aspen Foundation for Hospice Care. He was born October 1, 1923, in Pocatello, Idaho, to John Napier Hart and Ruth Caffall Hart. He grew up in Idaho Falls and attended Riverside Elementary, O. E. Bell Jr. High, and graduated from Idaho Falls High School. He also attended the University of Idaho. He served in the U. S. Army as a Sergeant First Class during World War II. He married Norma Marie Kemp July 18, 1943, in Cheyenne, Wyoming. Their marriage was solemnized in 1969 in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. He was a baker and cake decorator. Besides living in Idaho Falls for 73 years, he lived in Pocatello for 5 years and in Page, Arizona from 1961-1963. He was Jack of Jack & Jean's Bakery and later started the Party Shop & Reception Center. An active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he served in various positions over the years. He was a member of the American Legion Post 56. He enjoyed golfing and cake decorating. Surviving are: Wife: Norma Marie Kemp Hart, Idaho Falls, ID Daughter: Marcia Jean [Chip] Snowden, Idaho Falls, ID Son: John Napier [Sally] Hart III, Idaho Falls, ID Son: Bob Napier [Melanie] Hart, Idaho Falls, ID Sister: Jean [Lloyd] Ricks, Idaho Falls, ID 18 Grandchildren, 13 Great Grandchildren He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother. Funeral Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 3, 2004, at the Idaho Falls LDS Rose Park & Boulevard Ward meetinghouse, 351 West 14th Street, with Bishop Arthur Rammell officiating. The family will visit with friends Friday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home (273 N. Ridge) and Saturday for one hour prior to the services at the church. Burial will be in Fielding Memorial Park under the direction of Wood Funeral Home. Military Rites will be performed by the Bonneville County Veterans Team.
