Sincere condolences to John's wife and family. I served with John in Foreign Affairs, and remember him as a skilled professional, and good friend. John was always quick with a smile and a comic quip. I remember well the sight of John on the half and quarter speed circuits, in the Pearson ComCentre, with tape all around him, phones ringing, rerun requests outstanding, and confusion reigning, doing an imitation of John Travolta in Saturday Night Fever. Good times, good people. Go well, John. You will be missed.

John and I never got that game of golf, but my memories go back to when he first joined Foreign Affairs and I was the old guy just back from India. Our families served together in The Hague and they were good times, save the odd flooded basement. Our sincere condolences on your shocking loss. He was a good guy and deserved many more years.
