John H Brown

John H. Brown, 64, of Ammon, Idaho, was under care of hospice and his sassy wife, when he took his last earthly fisherman’s breath on February 12, 2021.

John was born in California on March 18, 1956, to Lillian Ford. He grew up in Arkansas with family, later moving to Idaho Falls. He was adopted, along with his sister, Tonya, by Louis Brown, and then along came his baby sister, Sondra. John worked the family farm and attended Skyline High School.

His experience in his youth led him to many adventures in his adult life from traveling, trucking, construction, caring for the elderly, and fast food. John was always up for an adventure, especially fishing, BBQ-ing, drag racing, hunting, good food, and tinkering with anything and everything he could get his hands on. John’s biggest passion, though, was the people in his life. He thrived when he was spending time with everyone and making memories.

John married the love of his life, Sally Rose, in 1993, where he acquired three daughters, ten grandkids and eleven great grandkids. He was reunited with his son, Vaughn, in 1996. He always had a special bond with Khyleigh, his niece. He was relentless when it came to keeping the neighborhood kids on the road with their bikes. He was otherwise known as “Grandpa John.” He took pride in being Sally’s “Biggest Fan” of all her quirky recipes, along with being her “Biggest Critic” as well. Simply Entertaining!

John was preceded in death by his parents, Lillian (Ford) Brown and Louis Brown; and Brother in Life, Norman Stanfield.

He is survived by his wife, Sally A. Rose of Ammon, ID; sisters, Tonya Brown of Preston, ID and Sonya (Ken) Thornley of Cove, UT; nieces and nephews, Khyleigh (Wyatt) Cazier of Preston, ID, Zach Thornley, and Alex Thornley of Cove, UT; four children, Vaughn S Brown of Rio Grande, Mexico, Brandy (Shon) Ghan of Shelley, ID, Deby (Rod) Kremin of Idaho Falls, ID, and Stephanie J Winder of Fairbanks, AK; his Brothers of Life, Danny (Sheryl) Lewis of Idaho Falls, ID, Larry (Marilyn) Stanfield of Idaho Falls, ID, Nick (Sandra) Vallez (3 children) of Idaho Falls, ID, and Gary Higgans of Idaho Falls, ID.

A Celebration of John’s Life “Open House” will be held between 12-2 p.m. Saturday, February 20, 2021, at 1100 S. Tiebreaker, Ammon, ID, 83406. A light lunch will be served.
