Click Here To View Video Tribute of John, made by Anna Ball Webster John Miles Goddard, 54, of Idaho Falls, passed from this life with his ‘Jen’ at his side on January 10, 2014, at Intermountain Medical Center in Murray, Utah. John was born September 27, 1959, at Odgen, Utah to George Joseph ‘Joe’ Goddard and Rosalie Larsen Goddard. He was raised in Malad, Rexburg, and Idaho Falls, Idaho, and spent his summers in Island Park. He graduated from Idaho Falls High School. He loved life and all outdoor activities, especially riding Harleys, motorcycles, 4-wheelers, camping, fishing, hunting, snowmobiling, and boating. Sporting clays were his specialty and he had the distinction of being a Master Class Shooter. John was a previous board member of the Skyline Gun Club of Idaho Falls, and was a member of the Elks Lodge in Idaho Falls. John married Fran Olsen and together they had a daughter, Brooke; they later divorced. He then married Jennifer Joy Boyle in San Antonio, Texas, and became a father to step-son Dalton Wilson. During his childhood and throughout his life he experienced numerous health challenges and always met them head-on with a ‘can-do’ attitude. His smile, positive attitude and genuine concern for others were a great inspiration to all, including other cancer and diabetic patients. He spent countless hours with friends sharing and enjoying their friendship. He had the unique ability to make everyone he met feel as if they were in his inner circle. John did not have friends, he had ‘best friends’. One of John’s fondest destinations was the getaways to ‘El Rancho Del Gringo’, and the numerous friends that joined him. He spent 30 years working for Leisure Time, Inc. of Idaho Falls and earned the reputation of being the very best salesman ever, and his voice was very familiar to radio audiences throughout Idaho as he always ended his ad saying, “Don’t forget – You’ll be Glad You Did.” He is survived by his wife, Jennifer Goddard; daughter, Brooke Goddard; step-son, Dalton Wilson; parents, Joe and Rosalie Goddard; brother, Dan Goddard; and many nieces, nephews, family and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents and brother, Derlin Goddard. Services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 18, 2014 at the Idaho Falls LDS Woodruff 3rd Ward, 2055 Coronado.
