JOHN ERWIN
IDAHO FALLS, ID -- John Edward Erwin, 82, of Idaho Falls, died December 31, 2005, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.
He was born September 27, 1923, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, to John Spears Erwin and Anna Maria Louisa Klapel Erwin. He grew up in the area and graduated from Roosevelt High School. He joined the Navy and served during World War II.
He attended the University of Minnesota and finished his education in civil engineering at the University of Utah.
He married Margaret Juanita Johnson on September 11, 1946, in Salt Lake City, Utah. She died on December 25, 1993. He lived in Minneapolis, MN; Rock Springs, WY; Centerville, UT; Billings, MT; Electric City, WA, and the last ten years he has resided in Idaho Falls.
An active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he served as the Ward clerk for 30 years. He enjoyed genealogy, and stamp and coin collecting. John especially loved spending time with his grandchildren and was fascinated with the weather, gardening and automobiles.
He is survived by:
Son, Brad (Jane) Erwin of Sandy, UT;
Son, Jeff (Eve) Erwin of Idaho Falls;
Daughter, Jane (Chris) Talkington of Harrington, WA;
Sister, Lillian Westmoreland of Olympia, WA;
10 Grandchildren and 8 Great Grandchildren
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and one brother Patrick Erwin.
Funeral Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 5, 2006, at the Eagle Rock Stake Center (2020 Charlotte) with Bishop David Lent officiating. The family will visit with friends from 12:30 until 1:45pm prior to the services. Burial will be in the Spring Canyon Cemetery, in Washington
