John held a special place in my heart, many years ago, when I was a young bride, he flew/worked and was a friend to my husband at the time. He was a joy to know and I was blessed to have him as a friend.

I graduated high school with John nearly fifty years ago. I recall meeting him a few years later, I believe he was cropdusting & I was on leave prior to deployment to Vietnam. We rented an airplane, with joystick controls, and spent the day doing loop-the-loops and barrelrolls over Lake Gibson. John was fearless. He was truly a free spirit who will be missed. I will never forget him. Earth's loss is Heaven's gain. We loved you, John.

I will always remember Johnny in his Senior year of high school. Even then he was an exceptional person. I remember that he always walked with energy and purpose, working after school to buy the little red and white Metropolitan he drove and to pay for his flying lessons. The last time my husband and I ran into him he was about to embark on a sea voyage. That was many, many years ago. I know he will be greatly missed. He was such a special person
