JOHN DESMOND BUCK
IDAHO FALLS, ID - John Desmond “Des” Buck,
86, of Idaho Falls, died July 22, 2003, at the Good Samaritan Nursing Center.
He was born December 30, 1916 at Menan, Idaho to Ernest
Buck and Jessie Martin Buck. He grew up in the area and graduated from Midway
High School where he was a four sport letterman.
On January 16, 1940, he married Pearl Harriet Davies in
Dillon, Montana. On July 19, 1956, their marriage was solemnized in the
Idaho Falls LDS Temple. He worked in various jobs and retired after 30 years
as a Brakeman for the Union Pacific Railroad.
He was an Elder in the The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day
Saints. He enjoyed singing and music, gardening, horseshoes, deep sea fishing
and sports.

Son: Kerry (Geraldine) Buck, Idaho Falls, ID
Sister: Ireta Clark, Chubbuck, ID
Sister: Agnes (Dale) Ball, Shelley, ID
35 Grandchildren and 42 Great Grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife; four brothers, Ernest “Ern”,
James “Jim”, Joseph “Joe”, and Luther Eldon “Rusty”;
and three sisters, Ruth, Madeline and Nancy.
Funeral Services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July
25, 2003, at the Iona Stake Center (Iona Road and Ririe Hwy), with Bishop
Mike Long, of the Iona 5th Ward, officiating.
The family will visit with friends on Thursday from 7:30-9:00
p.m. at the Wood Funeral Home East Side (963 S. Ammon) and for one hour
prior to the service at the church on Friday.
Burial will be in the Iona Cemetery under the direction
of Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 S. Ammon Road, Idaho Falls, ID 83406.
