J. RODNEY BROWN IDAHO FALLS, ID -- John Rodney Brown, 54, of Idaho Falls, died January 8, 2005, at his home. Rodney was born August 15, 1950, in Idaho Falls, to John Simpson Brown and Dixie Theora Burke Brown. He grew up and attended schools in the area. He lived for a short time in Everett, Washington; Salt Lake City and Moab, Utah; and Billings, Montana; then moved to Idaho Falls, where he has since resided. He served in the U. S. Marine Corps. He married Debbie Platt Dixion on December 21, 1981, in Shelley. They were later divorced. His previous marriages were to Cheryl Empey in 1973, Mary L. Slicker on October 4, 1971, and Colleen Hatfield on September 25, 1969. He worked as a sheepherder, dishwasher, and laborer in the potato industry. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Rodney enjoyed fishing, camping, embroidering, traveling and bowling. Surviving are: Son: Donald Gene Brown Sister: Vadea McDougal, Idaho Falls, ID Brother: Robert Jess Brown, Idaho Falls, ID Sister: Elizabeth Coulson, Idaho Falls, ID Sister: Carol Lewis, Mud Lake, ID Sister: Merla Brewer, Idaho Falls, ID He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, two nieces and a great niece. Funeral Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 17, 2005, at Wood Funeral Home, 273 N. Ridge, with Jon A. Wood officiating. The family will meet with friends Sunday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. and Monday for one hour prior to the services, both at Wood Funeral Home (273 N. Ridge). Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery under the direction of Wood Funeral Home. Military Rites will be performed by the Bonneville County Veterans Memorial Team.
