JOEL D. WILLIAMS
IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Joel Dean Williams, 77, of Idaho Falls, died October 9, 2006 at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.
He was born February 10, 1929, in Malad, Idaho, to Llewellyn J. Williams and Mary Davis Williams. He grew up and attended schools in Malad, graduating from Malad High School. He continued his education at Ricks College and later Idaho State University, where he received his Bachelor's Degree in Education. He taught school in Northern Idaho and later in Idaho Falls at Templeview Elementary School.
On March 24, 1967, he married Vera June Lingren in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. In addition to working as a school teacher, he worked as an accountant and then as a security guard at French's in Shelley.
He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served for many years as a finance clerk. He enjoyed watching football and basketball; was a wonderful dancer; and a talented golfer, having studied with Arthur Miller.

Sister: Eileen (Keith) John, Malad, ID
He was preceded in death by a sister, Luanna Parker.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, October 13, 2006, at the Idaho Falls LDS 4th Ward, 955 Memorial Drive, with Bishop Kevin Hathaway officiating. The family will visit with friends Thursday from 7-8:30 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home (273 N. Ridge) and Friday from 10-10:40 a.m. at the church.
Burial will be in the Iona Cemetery under the direction of Wood Funeral Home.
