Jose Mario Torres, 66, of Idaho Falls, passed away April 27, 2026, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.
Joe was born March 4, 1960, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Monsais Torres and Jovita Rodriguez Torres. He grew up and attended schools in Firth, Idaho, and graduated from Firth High School. Afterward, Jose served in the United States Army Reserve.
Joe made his home in Idaho Falls, Idaho, where he was a foundry worker for Cives Steele and Washington Irvin Accessories in Tacoma, Washington.
He was a member of the Catholic church. He enjoyed golf and hanging out with his brothers. Joe was a fan of the Denver Broncos and was devoted to President Trump. He liked camping and paddle boarding at Ririe Reservoir with his family.
Joe is survived by his son, Jamie (Melissa) Torres of Firth, ID; son, Haven (Jodi) Torres of Idaho Falls, ID; daughter, Olivia (Jesus Martinez) Torres of Bothwell, WA; son, Isaiha Torres of Tacoma, WA; significant other, Banica Hurtado; son, Conner Hurtado; daughter, Alyssa (Sissy) Hurtado; sister, Olivia Wernette of Firth, ID; brother, Rick Torres of Boise, ID; brother, Moe (Carol) Torres of Albuquerque, NM; sister, Naomi Sandavol of St. Louis, MO; brother, Paul Torres of Idaho Falls, ID; brother, Benny (Penny) Torres of Firth, ID; brother, Joel (Callie) Torres of Albuquerque, NM; sister-in-law, Amelia Torres of Firth, ID; 13 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Victor Torres; brother-in-law, Ken Wernette; sister-in-law, Barbara Torres; and brother-in-law, Fred Sandavol.
A graveside service will be held at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, May 9, 2026, at Shelley-Hillcrest Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Saturday from 11:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 South Ammon Road prior to services. Burial will be in the Shelley-Hillcrest Cemetery. Military Honors will be performed by the Bingham County Veterans Memorial Team and Idaho Honor Guard.
