Joe P Perez, 71, of Idaho Falls, passed away January 3, 2016, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center. Joe was born July 22, 1944, in Pocatello, Idaho, to Cecilio and Rosa Perez. He was the 13th child to this union. He grew up and attended schools in Idaho Falls and graduated from Idaho Falls High School in 1964. He also attended the University of Idaho from 1965-1968. Joe was married three times. In 1971, he married Penny Cave and the couple had two children: Chad and Heidi. Later, he married Cathy Elder and they had two children: Joey and Tamaka. On June 11, 1988, he married Jeanne Grube. To this union were born two children: Jason and Kadie. The couple later divorced. Joe worked as a bus driver for the Idaho National Laboratory. He was proud of his driving record of 1,500,000 miles, accident free. He was a member of the Catholic Church. He enjoyed anything farming and mechanical and also worked as a volunteer at the Rigby Senior Center. Joe is survived by son, Jason (Meagan) Perez, of Ririe, ID; daughter, Kadie Perez, of Clermont, FL; son, Chad Tarwacki, of Michigan; daughter, Heidi Stender, of Michigan; daughter, Tamaka Perez, of Prescott Valley, AZ; son, Joey Perez, of Prescott Valley, AZ; brother, Greg (Angelina) Perez, of Rigby, ID; brother, Cecil Perez, of Idaho Falls, ID; brother, Julian (Connie) Perez, of Meridian, ID; brother, Adolf (Uteave) Perez, of Idaho Falls, ID; brother, Alex (Carole) Perez, of Idaho Falls, ID; brother, Tony (Tina) Perez, of Rigby, ID; sister, Rita Perez, of Idaho Falls, ID; sister, Mary (Dean) Kauffman, of Idaho Falls, ID; sister Margie (Jack) Ugaki, of Idaho Falls, ID; sister Juanita (Carlos) Castillo, of Meridian, ID; sister, Lupe (Mike) Kelsch, Idaho Falls, ID. 2 grandchildren He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Sandy Ilg; and three brothers, Asuncion Perez, George Perez, and Danny Perez.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 9, 2016, at Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church, 145 – 9th Street. A Rosary service will be held from 6-7 p.m. Friday at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 South Ammon Road, and the family will visit with friends from 7-8 p.m. Friday following the Rosary service. Burial will be in the Rigby-Pioneer Cemetery.
Saturday January 9, 2016 , 11:00 a.m. at Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church
