Joe Owen Crawford

Joe Owen Crawford, 86, of Shelley, passed away June 28, 2021, at his home.

Joe was born October 21, 1934, in Bogota, TN, to Lee Crawford and Ada  Sellers Crawford.  He attended schools in Kentucky, but dropped out in the 8th grade.  He later joined the United States Air Force, where he earned his GED and was a sergeant.

Joe married Arlis Marie Powell in Boise, ID, they later divorced.

On August 15, 1998, he married Helen Claire Clingerman in Idaho Falls, ID. Joe and Helen made their home in Shelley, ID, where Joe worked and operated his own mechanic shop.

He was a member of the Protestant church.  He enjoyed building trailers, working on cars, and especially helping people out.

Joe is survived by his wife, Helen Clingerman of Shelley, ID; son, John (Patty) Crawford of Pocatello, ID; daughter, Shirley Crawford of Shelley, ID; grandsons, John, Zachary, and Alex; and sister, Joy Leaster of Kentucky.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lee and Ada Crawford; brother, Jerry Crawford; son, Jimmy Crawford; and daughter, Sarajane Crawford.
