Jody Longie

Jody Lynn Longie, 43, of Idaho Falls, passed away December 22, 2018, at her home. Jody was born August 10, 1975, in Rexburg, Idaho, to Donald Gene Haycock and Carla Theresa Haycock. She grew up in Mud Lake, Idaho, and attended Terreton Elementary School and West Jefferson High School. She later earned her GED. On February 14, 2007, she married Michael Eugene Longie in Idaho Falls. Jody had five children from a previous marriage; Gloria, Miguel, LuzElena, Elizabeth, and Guillermo. Jody and Michael made their home in Idaho Falls, Idaho. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Jody enjoyed drawing, cooking, long walks, planting flowers, camping and fishing. The most important thing to her was her family and she loved spending time with them and taking care of her grandchildren. Jody is survived by her loving husband of 11 years, Mike E. Longie; daughter, Gloria (Carlos) Vazquez of Victor, ID; son, Miguel Vazquez of Idaho Falls, ID; daughter, LuzElena McInelly (Vasquez) of Idaho Falls, ID; daughter, Elizabeth (Gaige) Atchley of Idaho Falls, ID; son, Guillermo Velazquez; brother, Dustin (Jessica) Haycock of Miles City, MT; sister, Carey (Edward) Haycock Staley of Mud Lake, ID; 7 grandchildren, Israel Garcia Vazquez, Jhonathan Garcia Vazquez, Juan Carlos Garcia Vazquez, Andrea Lynn Garcia Vazquez, Adam James Atchley, Kaylee Skye McInelly and Elliot William Longie and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; Donald and Carla, grandparents Deral and June Haycock and Rosemary and James Jennings, brother, Timothy Haycock; mother-in-law, Moe Moran, uncles Clifford Jennings and Richard Davis. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Friday, December 28, 2018, at Wood Funeral Home (273 North Ridge Avenue) with Bishop Dallin Ivie, of the Terreton 2nd Ward, officiating. The family will visit with friends Thursday from 5:30-7 p.m. and Friday from 10:00 am to 10:45 a.m., both visitations at Wood’s. Burial will be in the West Jefferson Cemetery.
