Joanne (Parker) Illingworth

JoAnne Parker Illingworth, 86, of Idaho Falls, passed away August 4, 2024, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.

JoAnne was born July 28, 1938, in Billings, Montana, to Elwood Logan Parker and LaRene Baum Parker. She grew up and attended schools in Billings, Montana, and Burley, Idaho, and graduated from Burley High School in 1956.

On August 22, 1958, she married Alan Templeton in Burley. They lived in American Falls, Idaho, with their daughter, Leslie, and son, Bret. After divorcing in 1969, she married Ronald Lee Illingworth on August 23, 1970. Following Ron’s death, JoAnne moved to Missoula, Montana, until 1983 when she moved to Idaho Falls, Idaho.

She enjoyed working a variety of jobs throughout her life and retired from the INL in the Emergency Management and Human Resources Department. After her retirement in 2006, she worked part-time in a craft store.

As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she served in numerous ward and stake positions, many involving music, and had been an officiator in the Idaho Falls Temple.

Survivors include her children, Leslie Coles of Bozeman, MT and Bret (Monique) Templeton of Ammon, ID; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; and her cuddly kitty companion, Mindy.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ron; sister, Jean Parker; brothers, Dean Parker and Gary Parker; and sisters-in-law, Elsie Parker and Audrey Parker.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 10, 2024, at the Mountain View Ward, 1450 Mountain View Lane, with Brother Brad Johnson officiating. The family will visit with friends from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to services. Inurnment will be in the Burley Cemetery at a later date.
