JoAnn Magdalena Amann Tolman, 87, of Idaho Falls, passed away January 14, 2013, at Mount Vernon Assisted Living Center in Idaho Falls of natural causes.
JoAnn was born June 1, 1925, in Hoboken, New Jersey, to Emil Otto and JoHanna Magdalena Dupper Amann. She grew up and attended schools in Salt Lake City, Utah, and graduated from Granite High School.
On November 25, 1950, she married Nathan Grant Tolman in Salt Lake City, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They made their home in Idaho Falls, where they raised their children. JoAnn was a devoted wife, mother, and homemaker. Grant passed away September 23, 1998.
An active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, JoAnn served as a Secretary in the Primary Presidency and served in Primary over 50 years. She loved flying with her husband and son, camping with her family, gardening, and collecting spoons from around the world. She loved playing the violin and organ and spending time with her family.

Daughter, Carol Ann (Patrick) Harrop of Pocatello, ID;
Daughter, Claudia (Neal) Russell of Idaho Falls, ID;
Son, Jonathan (JoAnn) Tolman of Smithfield, UT;
Daughter, Maria (Kirk) Rossi of Madison, WI;
Brother, Emil Amann of Salt Lake City, UT;
Brother, Kent Amann of St. George, UT;
Brother, Arthur Amann of Heber City, UT;
Sister, Esther McFarlane of Holladay, UT;
17 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sons, Brian and Aaron, a sister, Christa Kinsey of Salt Lake City, UT, and a grandson, Jason Russell.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 18, 2013, at the Idaho Falls LDS Parkview Ward, 2051 South Emerson. The family will visit with friends from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. Friday at the church. Burial will be in the Honeyville Cemetery in Honeyville, Utah.
