Joan Rose Casper Woolf, 79, of Iona, Idaho, passed away Wednesday, November 30, 2011, at the home of her daughter in Iona. She was born on Leap Day, February 29, 1932, in Garfield, Idaho, to Grant Casper and Emily Andrus Casper. She grew up and attended schools in the Garfield area. On May 13, 1950, Joan married J. D. Woolf in Dillon, Montana. Together they raised four children. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. Joan and J.D. were married for 62 years. Joan was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was a mother and a homemaker and enjoyed collecting antiques. She was an avid gardener and loved flowers. Joan was very creative and could make something out of nothing. Joan’s survivors include: Husband, J. D. Woolf of Iona, ID; Daughter, Teresa Smith of Wellsville, UT; Daughter, Deborah Williams of Iona, ID; 9 Grandchildren; 14 Great grandchildren; Brothers, Bill Casper and Zane Casper; and Sisters, Marketa Hodges and Rhoda Taylor. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Floyd Casper; her sister, Barbara Buckland; her daughter, Christene Bell; and her son, Hank Woolf. Graveside Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, December 3, 2011, at the Ammon Cemetery, under the direction of Wood Funeral Home.
