IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Joan Windom Pullen, 84, of Idaho Falls, died January 29, 2009, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center of natural causes.
She was born April 8, 1924, in Huntington, West Virginia, to Campbell Windom and Este Stevers Windom. Her parents divorced and she was raised by her mother and stepfather, Carl Ross. She grew up and attended schools in the area and graduated from Huntington High School. She also attended Marshall College.
She married Raymond Jennings Pullen October 14, 1944 in Quero, Texas. They lived throughout the southwestern United States during Ray’s service in the Air Corps. After World Ward II ended, they settled in Pocatello while Ray attended pharmacy school at Idaho State University. They made Idaho Falls their permanent home in 1951. Joan was a devoted homemaker and loving mother to three children.
She was very active in the Idaho Falls first Baptist Church, serving in various positions. She spent many hours sewing and crafting, cooking, working in her flower beds and reading. She loved spending time at their summer home in Island Park, especially fishing in the rivers and creeks throughout the area. She was an animal lover, enjoying many pet dogs and cats throughout the years. She also loved to travel with Ray throughout the United States and Europe when time allowed. She will be missed by her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, February 2, 2009, at the First Baptist Church, 665 John Adams Parkway, with Pastor Melinda Oberhelman officiating. The family will visit with friends Sunday from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home, 273 N. Ridge, and Monday from Noon to 12:45 p.m. at the church. Burial will be in Fielding Memorial Park under the direction of Wood Funeral Home.
