Joan (Collard) Adams, 88, of Idaho Falls, Idaho, passed away on July 22, 2025, in her home that she and Snuffy shared since they were married 46 years ago.
Joan was born in Blackfoot, Idaho, to Jarrold and Viola (Belnap) Collard, on October 5, 1936, oldest of four children. She went to school in Blackfoot and graduated from the local high school.
She was married to her first husband in 1955, and to this union two daughters were born, Marvann and Paulette. In 1972, she married her life-long partner, Eugene "Snuffy" G. Adams. Snuffy became the father of choice by Joan's daughters, and they were both adopted in 1975, gaining a brother, Scott, in the process.
She worked a variety of jobs throughout her life, mainly sales jobs, which she excelled at, winning a regional award and a trip to New York City. In addition, she had a knack for anything floral and for a time worked as a florist. Her love of flowers showed in her home flower garden. She enjoyed golf, unfortunately back injuries didn't allow her to continue that sport. Snuffy and Joan enjoyed cruises, and on one cruise, playing bingo, Joan won a trip for another cruise, what luck! She enjoyed painting and won a blue ribbon at the Idaho State Fair in Blackfoot for her painting. She was a collector of antiques, many of them having family ties, but also collecting purple glass, often times found when we went bottle digging. Mom will be greatly missed.
Joan is preceded in death by her parents, Jarrold and Viola Collard; her husband, Snuffy; her sister, Donna (Val) Kesler; brother, Jay (Barbara) Collard; and one great grandson, Anthony VanderSys.
Joan is survived by her daughters, Marvann (Craig) and Paulette (Bill); step-son, Scott (Marquita); two grandsons, Chris and Mike; 4 great grandsons; and brother, Max (Linda).
Mother has requested to be cremated, and together with Snuffy, and their beloved pet, TC, they will be buried at Rose Hill Cemetery.
A gathering will be held for both Snuffy and Joan from 10-11 a.m. on Monday, August 25, 2025, at Wood Funeral Home, 273 N. Ridge Avenue. A private inurnment will be held at Rose Hill Cemetery.
