Joan Bressler

JOAN BRESSLER IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Joan Rae Russel Bressler, 74, of Idaho Falls passed away June 17, 2010, at Boneventure Assisted Living Center in Idaho Falls. She was under the care of Creekside Home Care and Hospice. She was born November 12, 1935, in Red Bluff, California, to Lawrence A. Russell and Margaret Elizabeth Alexander Russell. The family moved to Idaho Falls in 1947 and she graduated from Idaho Falls High School. She married Lorin Alton Bressler on October 24, 1954, in Elko, Nevada. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple on December 9, 1978. Together they had six children. Joan was a homemaker and a mother and worked as a waitress at Skylark. She worked at the Bonneville County Extension office, as a video store manager and finally as the activities director at Valley Living Retirement Center. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she served as a Relief Society President. Joan was also the PTO President at her children’s school. Joan enjoyed painting and crafts and being with her grandchildren. She is survived by her husband, Lorin; Son: Jeffery Bressler of Idaho Falls, Idaho; Daughter: Lori (Tony) Wade of Idaho Falls, Idaho; Daughter: Kathy Lewis of Idaho Falls, Idaho; Son: Wayne (Nancy) Bressler of Idaho Falls, Idaho; Daughter: Becky Moore of Idaho Falls, Idaho; 6 Grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Kenneth Lorin Bressler, and a sister, Peggy. Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Monday, June 21, at Wood Funeral Home, 273 N. Ridge Avenue. The family will visit with friends Monday from 1 to 1:45 p.m. prior to the services.
