Jinger (Warner) Coombs

Jinger Warner Coombs, a loving mother, grandmother, and cherished friend, passed away peacefully on April 27, 2025, at home in Idaho Falls, Idaho. She was born on September 24, 1944, in Provo, Utah. She was the daughter of Max and Florence Warner.

Jinger was a devoted wife of 60 years to Mike Coombs and, loved and supported her children and their families. She was known for her overall kindness and thoughtfulness. She loved giving gifts and always put others first. Every November, after Thanksgiving dinner, she gave each family a beautifully wrapped gift with a Christmas book to kick off their Christmas season. She loved sewing and was a perfectionist on every project she did. Every family has pillowcases for every holiday and more.

Jinger loved gardening; she was a flower enthusiast and strived to always have the greenest lawn. She loved reading and often had a large stack of books sitting next to her.  She looked forward to her sister’s annual summer trip to Bear Lake. She had close friends with whom she would meet monthly to have lunch. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

She is survived by her husband, Mike Coombs; children, Bob Coombs (Terisa), Scott Coombs (Lynn Ann), Christy Abbott (Mike), Kelly Grossman (Jess); and 15 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Joan Young, Vicki Braithwaite, and Bobi Jo Earnest.

Jinger was preceded in death by her parents, Max and Florence Warner, and father- and mother- in-law, Don and Lauraine Coombs.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 3, 2025, at the Mountain Ridge Ward, 4440 E. High Grove Rd, Idaho Falls, ID 83401. The family will meet with family and friends from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to services. Burial will be in the Iona Cemetery.
