Jimmie D Mitchell

Jimmie D Mitchell, 87, of Idaho Falls, passed away May 11, 2026, at Lily & Syringa Assisted Living Center.

Jimmie was born May 30, 1938, in Shelley, Idaho, to Dale M. Mitchell and Lois McGary Mitchell. He grew up and attended schools in Shelley and graduated from Shelley High School.

On September 4, 1958, he married Ida Darlene in Shelley, Idaho. Jimmie and Darlene made their home in Shelley, where Jimmie worked as a supervisor for R.T. French/Pillsbury/Basic American.

He enjoyed fishing, wood carving, and hunting. Jimmie was also a volunteer firefighter and a member of the Quick Response Unit in Shelley for many years.

Jimmie is survived by his wife, Darlene Mitchell of Idaho Falls, ID; son, Brian Mitchell of Shelley, ID; daughter, Lori Webber of Everson, WA; daughter, Shauna (Michael) Misseldine of Shelley, ID; daughter-in-law, Tesha Mitchell of Shelley, ID; 9 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren, with one on the way.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dale and Lois Mitchell; son, Dale Mitchell; and brother, Jerry Mitchell.

A gathering for family and friends will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Friday, June 19, 2026, at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 S. Ammon Road.
