JIM SOLECKI
IDAHO FALLS, ID -- James E. "Jim" Solecki, 57, of Idaho Falls, died June 26, 2002, at his home of cancer. He was under the care of Hospice of Eastern Idaho.
He was born November 16, 1944, at Chicago, Illinois, to Edward G. Solecki and Dorothy P. Kielbasa Solecki. He grew up in Chicago and attended St. Edward Elementary, St. Benedict High School, Illinois Benedictine College, and graduated from Iowa State University.
He married Marcy Kozacki August 6, 1966, in Chicago, Illinois. They lived briefly in Kennewick, Washington, Green Bay, Wisconsin, and Portland, Oregon, before coming to Idaho Falls 29 years ago. He worked as a Nuclear Engineer at Hanford, Washington, Idaho Falls, and Los Alamos, New Mexico. He was also the Manager of the DOE Grand Junction Office, and was President of his own consulting company.
He was a member of Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church. He was also a member of the National Rifle Association, the AEC Sportsman's Club, the North American Sheep Hunters Association, the Western Whitewater Association, and the American Nuclear Society. He enjoyed outdoor sports: fishing, boating, and hunting. He was the holder of the American Sheep Hunter's Grand Slam #997, which meant a great deal to him.

Funeral Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, July 6, 2002, at Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church, 9th & Lee. Vigil Prayer Services will be held at 6:00 p.m. Friday, July 5, 2002, at the Wood Chapel of the Pines. The family will visit with friends on Friday following the Vigil Prayer Services until 9 p.m. and from 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. on Saturday, both at Wood Funeral Home.

Marcy, Steven, and Sandra:May the strength of your love in the past carry you through the future. We share so many fond memories of our early years together. As long as these memories live in us, Jim lives on in us. I am grateful to have had the opportunity to talk to Jim once more in Mid June. The memory of his fun loving nature will be with us forever. Jim was a great boss while at ASI and a good person. Wish I could've gotten to know him longer.

We know Jim is with God and every time we marvel at the world around us and see beauty, we know Jim continues to be a part of the majesty of all that he loved.
