Jim Burtenshaw

James "Jim" Burtenshaw, 97, of Roseville, California, passed away October 31, 2016, at his home.

Jim was born October 3, 1919, in Shelton, Idaho, to Benjamin Burtenshaw and Murilla Murphy Burtenshaw. He grew up and attended schools in Idaho Falls, Idaho, but lived most of his life in California. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

On December 23, 1939, he married LaRee Williamson in Idaho. Jim and LaRee made their home in Roseville, California, where Jim was a mill worker. Jim and LaRee were married for 50 years before she passed away August 4, 1990.

Jim is survived by his granddaughter, Kris (Dave) Hartman of Roseville, CA; daughter-in-law, Judie Burtenshaw of CA; great grandchildren, Trevor Hartman and Trista Hartman of CA.

He was preceded in death by his wife, LaRee Burtenshaw, father, Benjamin Burtenshaw, mother, Murilla Burtenshaw, and son James Burtenshaw Jr.

Graveside Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 9, 2016, at Ririe-Shelton Cemetery, 12463 East 129 North. The family will visit with friends from 12:00 noon to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 South Ammon Road.

Military Rites will be performed by the Bonneville County Veterans Memorial Team and Idaho Honor Guard.
