Jerry L. Tracy, 81, of Idaho Falls, Idaho, passed away November 29, 2013, at his home.
Jerry was born August 6, 1932, in Idaho Falls, ID, to Richard LaVerl Tracy and Viola Tracy. He grew up and attended schools in Idaho Falls and Salmon.
On February 4, 1961, he married Karen Chapman in Las Vegas, Nevada. Jerry and Karen made their home in Idaho Falls and Jackson, Wyoming, where Jerry co-owned Jackson Lumber. He was a County Commissioner for Teton County, Wyoming. He was a member of the Lions Club, Elks Club, and Mountain States Lumber and Building Materials Dealers’ Association. They moved to Idaho Falls in 1984, where they made their current home, and he owned and operated Building Materials Wholesale, Inc.
He was a Little League coach, and enjoyed golf, reading, fishing, and his dogs and cat.
Jerry is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Karen Tracy of Idaho Falls, ID;
daughter, Angela (Walter) Terry of Tucson, AZ;
daughter, Michelle (Gary) Sharp of Idaho Falls, ID;
son, Todd (Deborah) Tracy of Renton, WA;
son, Shane Tracy of Idaho Falls, ID;
grandchildren: Shawn and Lorelei Wachter, Tony DeLaGarza, Peyton and Meredith Tracy, Sean Terry, and Tricia Maier;
and great grandchildren: Drake & Kelli Wachter, and Emmy and Rylan Maier.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Richard Tracy and Burdette Tracy, and sisters, Dorothy Jensen and Mardean Nave.
Services will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, December 5, 2013, at Wood Funeral Home, 273 North Ridge Avenue, with President Kenneth Turley officiating. The family will visit with friends from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm Wednesday and Thursday from 10:00 am to 10:45 am., both at the Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery.
