Jerry Alan Rowe, 70, passed away on Monday, December 16, 2024, at the Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center after a series of illnesses.
Jerry was born on August 3, 1954, to Jerald Levon Rowe and Joyce Kaye Johnson Rowe at the Fort Lewis Madigan Army Hospital in Tacoma, Washington. Jerry was the oldest of four children born to Jerald Levon and Joyce. After his father's passing in 1958 due to a tragic car accident, his mother married Thomas “Tom” N. Chriswell and two children were born to Tom and Joyce, giving Jerry four sisters and one brother.
Jerry attended 1st grade in Fairfax, Virginia, during the time Tom was stationed at Fort Belvoir. After the family returned to Idaho, Jerry lived in Rexburg where he attended Adams Elementary. The family later moved to Idaho Falls where Jerry finished elementary school, junior high, and graduated from Bonneville High School. Jerry lived in Elk Grove, California, with his sister before returning to Idaho Falls where he resided at the time of his death.
Jerry married Kathy Walker in 1972. They were later divorced. Jerry married Denise Rathbun in 1978 and adopted Denise's son Jason. A beautiful daughter, Brandi Sue, was born to Jerry and Denise in 1981. Brandi Sue was the apple of Jerry's eye and she adored her dad. Jerry and Denise later divorced.
Jerry enjoyed fishing, working out, cooking, riding his Harley Davidson, being a member of the Brother Speed Motorcycle Club, and tattoos. He worked as a carpenter millwright for 25 years. After retiring from the carpentry trade, Jerry briefly worked as a tattoo artist.
For the past 3½ years, Jerry has resided at Turtle and Crane Assisted Living in Idaho Falls and was a favorite of the staff members. Jerry will be remembered for his smile that brightened any room and his beautiful waist length hair which he wore in a braid. While residing at Turtle and Crane, Jerry loved watching westerns, “Let's Make a Deal,” “Dateline,” and “Judge Judy” and having his hair braided.
