Jerry W Humphries, 80, of Idaho Falls, passed away March 12, 2018, at his home.
Jerry was born May 14, 1937, in Ammon, Idaho, to William Chesely Humphries and Marilda Louisa Chaffin Humphries. He grew up and attended schools in the Idaho Falls area.
On November 18, 1954, he married Zelene Miskin in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. To this union were born 3 children: Cindy, Jerry K., and Julie. Jerry and Zelene made their home in Idaho Falls, Idaho, where Jerry worked as a Computer Data Manager for Fleming Foods for 39 years.
He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in numerous callings including Counselor in the 32nd Ward Bishopric, Young Men’s President, Ward Clerk, Financial Clerk, and Executive Secretary. He loved to plant and harvest a garden. Yardwork was his pride and joy. He also loved to work with wood.
Jerry is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Zelene Humphries of Idaho Falls, ID; daughter, Cindy (David) Stucki of Grant, Idaho; son, Jerry K. Humphries of Idaho Falls, ID; daughter, Julie Lyne (Lynn) Hitchcock of Chubbuck, ID; sister, Leah Hill of Idaho Falls, ID; sister, Bertha Baxter of Ririe, ID; sister, Marvel Yeates of Bend, OR; brother, Jess (Verna) Humphries of Salt Lake City, UT; brother, Ron (Linda) Humphries of Boise, ID; 9 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Ruth Ciesielski and Ruby Montauge; and three brothers, Len Humphries, Deloy Humphries, and Dean Humphries.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 17, 2018, at the Grant 2nd Ward (3431 E. 100 N.) in Rigby, Idaho with Bishop Vaughn Quinn officiating. The family will visit with friends Friday from 6:30-8 p.m. and Saturday from 10-10:45 a.m., both at the church.
Burial will be in the Grant-Central Cemetery.
