Jerry Gerald Ferguson, 61, of Idaho Falls, passed away December 12, 2016, at his home.
Jerry was born June 20, 1955, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Gerald Raymond Ferguson and Helen Joan DePue Ferguson. He grew up and attended schools in Idaho Falls and attended Idaho Falls High School.
On January 13, 1983, he married Julie Burton in Idaho Falls. To this union were born two children, Eric and Kara. Jerry and Julie were later divorced. Jerry worked as a Heavy Equipment Operator for Gerald Ferguson Construction, Mountain River, Knife River and M & N Construction.
He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Anyone that knew Jerry knew of his passion and love for the outdoors in Heavenly Father's magnificent world; and that his weekends were usually prioritized and spent with family while hunting, fishing, and camping. Jerry always put first the importance and significance of family and cherishing time with his family in such a way that most often forget. "Don't rush. Love one another. Everyone just needs to choose to be happy". (And he would always positively smile when saying these). Jerry would often say: "Why is everyone in such a hurry these days when it's such a beautiful day for fishing?"
Jerry had the most rare and captivating imagination that was such a gift in itself when he was raising his children and bonding with his grandchildren. Jerry enjoyed reading fantasy books, with The Lord Of The Rings being one of his absolute favorites. Regardless of what was going on with himself, Jerry always paid a great deal of attention to the tiniest of things that most would overlook and miss. In noticing, Jerry always gave them such care and respect and the time of day.
He always had a crafty solution to any problem and would happily make jokes to lighten the mood of any problem at hand. He understood the importance of doing something right the first time and truly investing in a hard day's work. He loved life and lived every day to its fullest. Jerry had a very tender and very big heart that radiated such patience and warmth and he was kind to everyone.
